Wow.... Those SAT Words

Hello again. I hope that each and every one of you enjoyed your holidays and had a fun time with family and friends. So now that a new year begins it also means that the SAT exam is getting closer by the second. The SAT exam is the exam that basically determines if universities really want you for their schools or not. So I think is really good to stat getting prepared since this is a really hard and determining quiz. So this months blog I’ll be blogging about SAT words but no slang words for this blog since its not related to this blog. So lets begin I suppose:

Superfluous:

· Definition from Merriam Webster: exceeding what is sufficient or necessary, not needed
· My Definition: Unnecessary, or too much of one thing, extra
· How to use is in a sentence: I think that sign that Villa did when he scored that goal was superfluous
· In the sentence it is being said that when Villa scored the goal he did a sign that was very unnecessary or superfluous
· Another Example of Superfluous: If there is sugar in your tea, honey would be superfluous.
· In here it is being said that if you were to put sugar into a cup of coffee that has sugar, putting honey on it would be too much. That would be a really nasty cup of coffee

2. Dilatory:

· Definition from Merriam Webster: tending or intended to cause delay, characterized by procrastination
· My Definition: To always be late, or to be late for a tactical reason or just be late for no reason
· How to use in a sentence: Vincent is always dilatory to class, he is never on time
· What is being said in the sentence is that Vincent is never on time, he is always dilatory or late
· Another way to use dilatory: Jürgen Klinsmann made a change in the 90th minute, so he could waste time, he was being dilatory for a reason and this is why
· What is being said here is that Klinsmann was being dilatory for a tactical reason though so dilatory can also be used in a way to say somebody is wasting time

3. Adept

  • Definition from Merriam Webster: a highly skilled or well-trained individual
  • My Own Definition: To be really good at something, highly skilled
  • How To Use in a Sentence: Wow Juninho is an adept in scoring free kicks
  • In the sentence Juninho is very good at scoring free kicks or very adept
  • Another example of using Adept: Wow Fernando an adept when it comes to spelling words
  • In the sentence it is being said that Fernando is very good at spelling or adept

So this blog was without the most common thing: the cool words. But since I’ll only be doing this blog twice. Februaries blog will return back to normal and maybe all add more things since it has been requested lately. I would like to ask though if you guys like my idea of adding two examples instead one of each. Please comment me on this and also please give me some cool words you would like for me to put up on next months blog. Oh and also I would like some slang words too. Thanks a lot for reading my blog and finding it useful.  I’ll write to you guys next time. Good Bye!!!!!!!

            P.S; Please gimme recommendation please!!!!!!!!

Getting Less Awkward..... With Words

So as you people saw, last month's blog...... was a little awkward for me. The reason why is because of showing how the word gay is not only a normal definition but it also is very demeaning in slang. As most of you might of seen I was a little bit scared if I might have offended someone who might of have read my blog and once again I want to apologize if I have offended any reader and just understand this is just for people to learn more things. But in no way am I promoting people to go out and be screaming to people things that they have read in this blog. On another note ….. I am seriously grateful for all the recommendations that have been posted and trust me one by one ill be taking them into consideration and they will start to become part of my blog. Since a lot of people have recommended that I start looking into the history of the words I use in the blog. I will try my best to find the history of each word to the best of my abilities. So let’s get started then:

1. Affable
· Definition from Merriam Webster: 1 : being pleasant and at ease in talking to others
· My Definition: To be really friendly or easy going.
· Example: Hey Alessandro you shouldn’t be scared of Mia she is very affable.
So as you can see here affable is being used to describe Mia as a friendly person and Alessandro’s friend is telling Alessandro to not be scared and go talk to Mia because she is friendly or affable

2. Vindicate
· Definition from Merriam Webster: to free from allegation or blame
· My Definition: to free someone of blame or to say someone is innocent
· Example: Hey I vindicate Wes from the red card he got…. The replay shows that Wes didn’t break Dirk’s leg.
So as you can see here Wes is being freed of charge from breaking Dirk’s leg and so he is innocent or vindicated.

3. A Grip
· Definition from urban dictionary: An large amount of a particular item
· My definition: To have a lot of something like money
· An example: Man Ji-Sung you make a grip load of money huh that’s why you have all those nice cars
So as you can see Ji sung is being told that he has a lot of money or a grip of money. So another way to use a grip is ...... Dang it Alexander Mr. Ancelotti gave you a grip of homework huh!

So as you can read from the title I feel comfortable this blog since it isn’t offensive as the previous one. Hopefully all of you learned something today and that you can find this blog entertaining as well something you can learn from and reference to. I promise that next time there will be a new addition to my blog since people have said that i did good when i used this recommendation. And thank you very much... HAPPY HOLIDAYS

Even More Sicc Words

Hello Sicc Readers,
I read all comments and I'm really happy that you enjoyed my blog. Please as I have asked before, please give me any words that you want to know about, because I don't want to run out of ideas, and still hearing ideas from other people is nice too. Oh and by the way I'm going to start using a new website to find my definitions rather than Dictionary.com; I'm going to start using: merriam-webster.com/dictionary, because I felt I should try something new.

1. Futile
  • Definition from Merriam-Webster:serving no useful purpose : completely ineffective
  • My Definition: Has no point to it, Useless to do
  • How To Use In Sentence/Conversation: Hey Rafael it's futile to do your homework when its due right now
  •  So basically futile means pointless, so in the sentence Rafael is being told that it is pointless or,futile, to do the homework that is due at that point
  2. Gay
  • Definition From Merriam-Webster: 1. happily excited, keenly alive and exuberant, having or inducing high spirits 2. of, relating to, or used by homosexuals
  • My Definition: The real definition of gay is to be really happy, or gay can mean a word to label homosexuals, especially homosexual men
  • How to use in a sentence: 1. Hey Ryan, you seem to be in a gay mood today. 2. Hey Frank did you know that Didier is gay?
  • As you can see there is basically two definitions for the word gay, but nowadays one of these definitions seems to be overtaking the other. Like I said the real definition of gay is to be in a really happy mood. So in the first example Ryan is being asked if he is in a really happy, or gay mood. But like I said now gay is used to define homosexual males, so as you can see in the other example Frank is being asked if he knows that Didier is gay.
  • ******** Just to make sure if anybody who reads this becomes offended, then I'm really sorry for this. But just know that I'm doing this from a request from somebody and either way I never intend to offend anyone.
3. Gay
  • Ok I know you might be asking yourself why I'm using gay as slang, but now it's also being used as slang
  • Definition from UrbanDictionary.comA generic insult. It can mean bad, stupid, whatever you want it to mean.
  • My Definition: Most of cases it is used anyway mostly to say something is lame, stupid, ridiculous or like I said,  whatever you want it to mean
  • For this one I'm not going to give an example because i think that i have given enough information for you to make up your own way to say it

  • So this has been a weird one for me but still I hope I did a good job of shining some light into you, the reader, mind. I hope with this you learned how to use these words even though I wouldn't recommend using gay in slang. But still please give me more words, especially slang words that I may not know. Thanks and please tell me how i did.               God Bless!

The Real 1st Post Of AP "Season"

Well, hi everyone its been such a long time since my last post and im back. First of all thanks for all recommendations and now I will not only be talking about normal words but as well slang too since this was requested so ill be doing two "normal words" and one slang word per post. Finally I decided to add something of my own which would be a definition from Dictionary. com , so now you bloggers can now know two definitions coming from two different sources, one being from a trustworthy word definer and my definition which I create from different definitions I have heard and basically creating my own definition.

  1. Caricature
  • Definition from Dictionary.com =a representation of a person that is exaggerated for comic effect
  • My Definition= A drawing of something or somebody in a comical/funny way to entertain and/or to make fun of and/or exaggerate
  • How to use it in a conversation= Hey Lucas did you see the caricature that the LA Times did on Obama and McCain, they made them look like dogs barking at each other.
  • So as you see here caricature is basically making fun of something or somebody making them look not only funny but exaggerated because as i showed here the LA Times made them look like dogs barking at each other which resembles them arguing.
2. Explicit
  • Definition from Dictionary. com = Fully and clearly defined or formulated: "generalizations that are powerful, precise, and explicit" (Frederick Turner).
  • My own definition = Something that is clearly and fully explained and that is  really understandable,
  • How to use it in a sentence = Steven can you please tell me Onomatopoeia more explicitly please
  • So basically explicit means to explain clearly and fully in which i show in the example above that they want to know what onomatopoeia means clearly and fully explained.
3. Sicc
  • Definition From Urban Dictionary . Com = meaning really awesome to the most hardcore extreme people. when something is very cool/good/"off the hook"
  • My Own Definition = A slang term used to say when something is really awesome or very cool or nice.
  •  How To Use it In A "friend to friend" conversation= Hey Genaro did you see that trick that Ronaldhino did on Cristiano Ronaldo that was really sicc
  • So as you can see here sicc basically means awesome in a extreme way. As you see in the example Genaro is being asked if he saw the sicc trick that Ronaldhino did on Cristiano which was sicc
So yeah heres three words that can help you out on looking good on a normal scholarly conversation or slang that can make you look cool with your friends. So hopefully you guys give me more word recommendations and I hope you guys enjoy reading my blog as much as I enjoyed writing it. Looking forward to your responses  Good Bye
*********  Side-note=  Im really sorry for the other recommendations that were given to me and I forgot to put them in my post. I promise to put them on my next one. thanks and I hope you guys understand

Welcome Post

First of all i would like to say hi to whoever is reading this blog. May it be my friends, peers, teachers, or just blog readers. My name is Vincent i am currently a junior in Camino Nuevo Highschool. I reside in the downtown area of Los Angeles where the biggiest thing here is not the hollywood area, but how much smog is accumilated and how it affects our communities . A little note to my peers: first of all i would like to congratulate each one of you guys for taking a class that is such a challenge, also that you willingly and knowingly that by joining this class you are doing yourself a greater good. A class in which either you are strivng to become a better writter yourself or trying to perfect your writing; like me for instance, i am taking this class to hopefully accomplish my dream of becoming a great writer for sports magazines such as sports illustrated or espn. So once again i would like to congratulate my peers for deciding to take a class in which you willingly know you are making a greater good of not only yourself but of your future as well. Finally a note to every reader: Hopefully my blog becomes not only some sort of talk among you bloggers but also in a way it becomes some sort of help, and helps you, since my topic is about cool words. So please read my post and hopefully all of you enjoy my blog so please enjoy and hopefull you comment my post to either help me out by knowing what i need to fix, what am i doing good, bad, or if you found my post very interesting. So enough said i hope you enjoy my blog!

Cool Words

so basically my whole topic is about cool words. My whole blog is about basically finding any word, be from a quote, book, song, movie whatever it may be but a word that attracts me and then find a defenition for it, and also how to use this word in a sentence or conversation. Heres an example: Unalienable: Something that is reallly obvious that nobody can deny. So here as an example of using unalienable in a sentence: Every human beign has unalienable rights. So meaning that a human beign has rights that are really obvious that can't be denied. More and more ill be reading from news papers, books, and even assignments that are given to me and find cool words and publish them here in my post. Also if there are word that you dont know dont hesitate and ask me and ill look for the defenition and how to use it in every sentence. So basically speaking im some kind of dictionary not only trying to find the defenition of a word in the simplest manner but as well as how to use such word in a sentence and or in a normal conversation. So if you have any suggestions or any word you want me to look for don't hesitate to ask me and i promise you ill try to find the defenition of the word as soon as i can. So pleasefeel free to ask anything and ill try to find some cool words that are "Really" cool See Ya!
